Summer HorseCamp Students will learn to ride and care for a horse while having fun with kids their age. Students learn safe and sound horsemanship techniques as well as horse care, grooming, tacking up, first aid, nutrition and anatomy. Students also learn that barn chores are an important part of caring for a horse, we will clean paddocks, care for tack, clean brushes and buckets. These important skills become internalized as students enjoy games on horseback coupled with formal riding lessons and working with their peers. Balance is due on the first day of camp. Class enrollment is limited, so sign up early! Lunch is NOT included (except for Friday) please send snacks and water Ages: 6-16 years old CAMPERS SHOULD WEAR Campers should wear long pants, light weight t-shirt and boots (no tennis shoes). We provide riding helmets, but encourage each student to bring their own. CAMPERS SHOULD BRING 1. Sunscreen 2. Hat 3. Carrots (we have a scavenger hunt for the horses upon the completion of each camp day) 4. Snacks 5. Bottle of water (best if frozen) label camper’s items. 6. Parents... come see what your children have learned! We will be having games on horse back on Friday and encourage parents to be in attendance. (Please check schedule during camp). Following the games and during the picnic awards will be presented. We invite all to attend our family picnic.
